The Bosnia–Herzegovina Committee of CIGRÉ introduced a professional organization in Bosnia–Herzegovina which, since 1993 has been a full member of the International Council on Large Electrical Systems with its headquarters in Paris. BH K CIGRÉ is an organization which is concerned both on the domestic and the international level with scientific and applied problems in the area of the production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy as well as manufacture of electrical equipment and especially the problems of electrical energy systems.
In its work BH K CIGRÉ especially encourages the exchange of technical information and experience, and provides initiatives for the study of problems of interest for the Bosnia–Herzegovina electrical energy system and its parts. The BH K CIGRÉ follows and contributes to the development in certain special fields of its work (study committees), organizes specialist meetings or conference, and participates in the work of CIGRÉ Paris. It establishes cooperative efforts with associations and individuals who are interested in the program of work that BH K CIGRÉ deals with, develops and advances the information system and carries out exchange of information, publishes or assists in publishing scientific and specialist publications from its field, arranges for the financial means necessary for its work, supports and cooperates in the advancement of the knowledge of its members.
