The CIGRÉ Committee of Bosnia–Herzegovina, which is the largest professional organization in Bosnia–Herzegovina, began publishing in 1996 the journal “BOSANSKOHERCEGOVACKA ELEKTROTEHNIKA”, with the intention of publishing specialist texts in the area of electrical engineering and electronics using criteria on a par with world standards. The editor–in–chief prof. Rusmir Mahmutcehajic writes in the first issue: “The intention of this journal came about from careful study of the tasks, needs and goals of the engineering community of Bosnia–Herzegovina. It is a journal, which is a contribution of the engineering community, for the sake of scientific and expert recognition of current conditions, the foreseeing of a better future and acting in accordance with the best of human expectations. This intention cannot be separated from the difficult situation of Bosnia–Herzegovina nor from the hope for Bosnia–Herzegovina.”

The editorial board of the journal consists of the foremost experts in the field:
Rusmir Mahmutcehajic, Semsudin Masic, Ninoslav Vidovic, Mirsad Kapetanovic, Malik Kulender, Ismet Orahovac, Rasim Gacanovic, Osman Music, Zijo Pasic, Nikola Rusanov, Mensur Hajro, Alija Muharemovic, Miroslav Ljevak, Mirsad Sabanovic, Milivoje Tomic, Kemo Sokolija, Dusko Vickovic.

The journal as a whole is shaped in accordance with the best examples of scientific journals in this field throughout the world. All articles are passed through a procedure of preparation and verification in accordance with the standard practice of worldwide recognized scientific communities.
